I've been away.

I decided to actually change my lifestyle.

During the holidays, I realised that social media, the social network, is distracting me a lot from my studies. I didn't get what I wanted for my exams. Many of my friends actually did way better than me. I'm disappointed in myself. Very disappointed.

I don't know what happened during the exams. Was I careless? What did I do wrongly? Our exam papers were not distributed back to us. I have no idea what I did wrong, or what were the concepts that I understood wrongly.

I'm sad.

I'm changing the way I study. I deleted all the social applications from my phone. No more Facebook, no more Twitter, and I almost deleted my Whatsapp. But I figured that I have to keep it because that was how I contact people.

It's sad, that I'm not a genius who can score well in everything. Where the answer just pops into the mind out of nowhere. I'm sad, I have to be hardworking to be smart.

Bought a Penny Board

I am sooooo excited.

I bought my Penny board from White and Black Trading. They are the official stockist for Penny boards based in Singapore & Malaysia. They also sell other outdoor equipment and gears as well.

This Penny board costs $120. White and Black Trading is having a sale now (I am not sure why but I guess they're trying to clear their stocks?) It's not for all the Penny boards, only for a few.

You might want to check out their website here: http://whiteandblacktrading.com

(I am not sponsored or paid to say anything on my blog alrights.)

Set-up of my Penny board:

  • 22 inches long x 6 inches wide
  • Orange deck
  • Yellow raw wheels
  • Black bolts
  • Original silver Penny truck
  • Yellow bushings (all Penny boards have yellow bushings)
  • ABEC 3 bearings (not ABEC 7 because this board is the older version of Penny)

The board is pretty heavy but I got used to it.

I also bought grip tape but I haven't put them on yet, I wanna try cruising around without grip tape first and then with grip tape, so I could review whether it is better to put grip tape or is it still the same without grip tape.

The grip tape cost $15. No sale for that! ;-)

You can make your own design using the grip tape, so no one will have the same Penny board design as you. They provided the template for you at the back, so you just have to draw out your design and cut it out and paste it! But I'm not going to do any design on mine because I want the full grip on my board.

I'm gonna go cruising with my board now! Byeeeeeee.

August Mini Haul

Hello everyone! So today I have a haul.

It consists of four items, three of them are dresses, one is a bag.

Firstly, I bought this Forever 21 Charcoal Grey Maxi Dress.

It is from a Carousell reseller. (What is Carousell? That would be another post then!) It is brand new with the Forever 21 tag.

Size: S

At first, I saw her state in her picture, "Size S". I was worried, but after asking her for the measurements, I could definitely fit. Forever 21 items always have a big cutting.

The dress has a little breast pocket at the side which is pretty cute. Plus, the dress has a slit on the side so it allows you to walk easily when worn.

I am 170 cm tall and the dress falls till my ankle. I am so glad it's the right fit.

Second item that I bought was this beautiful leather sling bag.

It has three compartments and two ways to carry it. It's spacious plus it has a super modern design. Puts loads of stuff in it but still look cute. Kills two bird with one stone!

The third item I bought was this dark blue button down dress.

I really like button down (or button up) items and I really like maxi dresses. So this is like a combination of two items I like. Which means, like + like = MAD LOVE.

It doesn't touch my ankles, however, it shows my shoes! (Yes I think I have a too positive mindset.)

Last but not least, a cute peter pan tribal collar dress.

It is from Love and Bravery. A online shop based in Singapore. It's too cute to resist buying!

At first, I thought I couldn't wear it so I was planning to sell it away or give it to a friend, but yesterday night, I tried it on. Oh my god IT FITSSSSSSS?!?!??!

So yes I am definitely keeping this. The material is chiffon so it's really smooth and FARKING COMFY OKAY.

The best thing I love about dresses is that when the wind blows, it's super cooling. If you're a girl and you like to wear dresses, you know what I mean. Especially those dresses that are really-knee-length and you don't have to wear any safety shorts in them, those are the best summer dresses. So chilling~

No this is not the end of the post yet!

I have something to share about.. It is this:

HOLY MOTHER OF GOD

TUMBLR STICKERS!!!!12@#$%!#$

I know, I know, you're excited. I am excited. Everyone is excited. I bought these stickers for only $5.

$5, guys, $5!! With free normal postage + certificate of postage!

If you go to *Scape often, like me, you'll probably see like booths selling Stickers at 5 for $10. But for these stickers, it's like 30 pieces for $5. Which is more worth it? I don't even need to type out the answer.

But there are obviously some cons for these tumblr stickers. The only con is: It is not waterproof.

Well yeah, if you're not planning to stick anywhere that is vulnerable to water, this is the perfect sticker for you. Or actually, you can tape these stickers and cut it out nicely and paste it on your laptop, that way, it won't get wet! Good idea huh! :-)

Hope you like my post. Not trying to brag or show off what I bought or anything.

Peace out. (I'm gonna put an OOTD here)

Throwback: I designed a t shirt for my old secondary school

It all started out with my friend, Jean, telling the head master that I was good in designing.

He approached me and asked me if I could design a t-shirt for Hougang Secondary. I agreed and after a week, the t-shirts were printed and distributed to every Express student in the school.

From then on, I see the shirts being worn in school and even outside school. It makes me happy.

Ahah! Just a picture of me and my very good friend (nah actually we got into a fight and all but idw to talk about it). We were at Sentosa I guess. I was in Secondary 3. The days were good back then. *sobs* Not like now, the polytechnic life.

Yeah. Peace out. Have a nice day ahead.

Penny Board Adventures (Not yet!)

Hi guys!

I wanted to buy a penny board since like forever? But when there was a sale at Cineleisure Boards & Stuff (a few weeks ago), I actually forgot my PIN number (lmfao slap my head).

So, when I got home, I went to the official Penny Board site and customized my own penny board, when I got to the check out page, Singapore is not in the 'country' tab. They don't ship to Singapore. -heartbreaks-

And therefore, after thinking about whether is the customized one or pre-made one better, I finally decided, it's okay, I'll get the pre-made one.

Today, I went online to search "Penny Board Singapore". I found two stockists in Singapore.

One - Black and White Trading (official stockists! They are on the Penny website.)
Two - Qoo10

Black and White Trading sells the authentic Penny board: costs $175 and UP. Tons of good reviews are on Youtube and blogs. And it's been confirmed that the plastic WILL NOT BREAK even with a car rolling on it. (I was uber uber uber shocked when I saw so many videos of people doing that to their Penny board)

Qoo10 sells the cheaper version of it, well, from the photos, you know it's pretty hardcore copied. It costs: $32.90 and UP Same, tons and tons of good reviews on it.

I don't really skateboard. I cycle and roller-skate. But I wanna try and learn to skateboard.

I love trying new things.

My dream Penny board:

Costs: US$120 with free shipping but faaaark they don't ship to Singapore.

The Penny Board I have on mind:
Costs: SGD$120 (really worth it because they're having sales now)

Grip tapes I have on mind:

I want a contrasting colour to my Penny. The black one is obviously really matching but the tie dye one seems really really cool and trippy but I'm not sure whether it matches with the Penny I'm planning to get.

The grip tapes cost $15 each (omfg right I feel like getting a normal grip tape and cut it out myself)

--Update: The tie-dye grip tape isn't available anymore. So I think I'm getting a blue grip tape because I think orange and blue matches very well.--

I told my mother about buying it myself with my own money (Yes I saved up for it!) But she roaaaaared at me. Nah, I mean, she doesn't want me to waste my money. But, I have never skateboarded before. I mean, in life we should enjoy our time sometimes right? I told her the penny board is a very durable board and even fat people can ride on it, even cars can roll on it. She's still shaking her head in disapproval. Man. :-(

But, when I told her, I'll get it after my examinations, she said yes!

Oh. That's why she doesn't want me to get it...

Projects and projects

I am sorry if I offend anyone in this post. But, it is a fact that you will find out who are your true friends after a project. Some people only can be friends, not a team member.

Casio A178WA Gold

I purchased a second-hand Casio A178WA Gold watch for $30 after negotiating with the previous owner. It was actually selling at $35. The condition of the watch is actually still good, no scratches on the face of the watch, a few discoloration on the watch (you can't really prevent discoloration after wearing for long so yeah), and it still have a long battery life. In American Apparel's website, they were selling it at $78. So I think it's a pretty good deal.

If you guys didn't know, I had a list of resolutions for this year, and one of them was to get a Gold Casio watch. I'm so so so happy I could FINALLY check off that box.

Bought an iPhone 5

I always preferred android over iPhone. However, this year, I decided to make a little change. I head down to the nearest Apple store and purchased an iPhone 5 16GB. It was a huge splurge. I paid SGD$948 for the phone, SGD$39 for the protective screen and casing.

Yes I am currently charging the phone ahah!

So, around 5pm, I bought the phone. Went home happily (but yet, a little sad because I paid $1000 today).

My SIM card wasn't changed yet (I was using an android phone before this), so I had to wait till Monday till the SIM card gets mailed to my house.

So, at home, I was fiddling around with my new phone, and still getting used to it. I created an Apple ID and boom, next thing, Apple just bit me so hard. They charged me $1. Why did they do that?! I googled about it and here's what I found:

Apple really needs to make it clear to their users about this. This incident made me panic for five minutes.

But anyways, I really liked the phone and I may do a review about it soon. :-) After a week's use I guess!

Blogshop Festival 2013

Yesterday, I went to Blogshop Festival 2013 with my dearest friend, Gwen!

I already have a list of items on mind that I wanted to buy. But I only found one item... It was just a striped cut off shoulder midi dress. It looks amazing! When I got back home and tried it on, it fits perfectly. It's somehow like a bodycon dress which shows off the curves on the body.

At the very back of the festival, there was a booth. An awesome, awesome booth called "Hello Plus Minus". Their clothes, I swear, is the best thing ever on earth. They are a stockist for a UK clothing line called Hype. Whenever I think of Hype, I think of Tumblr. I think of printed clothing. And yes, most of Hype's clothes are printed on with loads of hippy prints. It's so me. I love prints.

So, anyways, Hype collaborated with Represent before. It was their first collaboration. They had the cosmic prints on the sweaters, shirts, tank tops... Cosmic/galaxy prints are just the best thing ever on earth! As I go through the rack beside Hello Plus Minus' booth, I SAW IT. I SAW THE HYPE X REPRESENT ALL OVER CREW. *dies from excitement*

But.. it was quite expensive.. The price blew my mind. It was $45. If I bought it, my budget would be way way way overshot. Plus, I needed to buy gifts for my friends' birthdays. I kept looking at Gwen and kept asking her if I should buy it or not. It's like one of my favourite thing on earth. After 5 minutes of a huge dilemma, Gwen told me, "I'll buy it for you as a birthday present. You want?"

HOLY SHITTTTTT

When this situation happens, what would you guys do? Say no? Obviously I said yes. And she bought it for me. My birthday is on 5th July, so it was an early birthday present.

$45. Usual Price: $75

It is actually still on the Hype's website, so if you plan to get it, click this.

It's just so pretty!

Thank you Gwen for the amazing birthday present! :-)

Oh and then, after we walked the whole of the Blogshop Festival, we went to Somerset because we couldn't find anything for Hatziqah/Michelle (the two birthday babies).

We walked to Scape and I told Gwen I should buy her something as well! Gwen wanted a pair of pink shorts.. Then I told her, "Why not you buy a pair of normal denim shorts then I dye it and stud it for you?"

She's like, "YES YES YES YES."

Went home and DIY-ed her shorts:

Will pass her on Monday I guess. :3

Polishing my Dr Martens

After four days of wearing my precious Dr Martens, it was time to give them a polish!

Items used:
1. Kiwi Shoe Polish
2. A normal shoe brush
3. A piece of cloth
4. Some water
5. Newspapers

Firstly, I laid newspapers on the ground. Just in case any my polish drops onto the floor~

And then, I unlaced the boots and rolled the laces into a tiny ball.

If you didn't look closely, you may think the boots are perfect in condition, however...

There are creases on the leather, and there are some dust.

How do I polish my shoes?

1. Brush off any dust present on the shoes.
2. Wrap the cloth around my index finger.
3. Damp the cloth and rub it on the shoes. (Don't make it too wet. Just make the surface of the leather damp.)
4. Take some Kiwi polish and rub it on the shoes in circular motions.
5. Keep rubbing till you see the leather shine.
6. Then, damp the cloth again and rub it on the shoes.

After polishing:
