Blogshop Festival 2013

Yesterday, I went to Blogshop Festival 2013 with my dearest friend, Gwen!

I already have a list of items on mind that I wanted to buy. But I only found one item... It was just a striped cut off shoulder midi dress. It looks amazing! When I got back home and tried it on, it fits perfectly. It's somehow like a bodycon dress which shows off the curves on the body.

At the very back of the festival, there was a booth. An awesome, awesome booth called "Hello Plus Minus". Their clothes, I swear, is the best thing ever on earth. They are a stockist for a UK clothing line called Hype. Whenever I think of Hype, I think of Tumblr. I think of printed clothing. And yes, most of Hype's clothes are printed on with loads of hippy prints. It's so me. I love prints.

So, anyways, Hype collaborated with Represent before. It was their first collaboration. They had the cosmic prints on the sweaters, shirts, tank tops... Cosmic/galaxy prints are just the best thing ever on earth! As I go through the rack beside Hello Plus Minus' booth, I SAW IT. I SAW THE HYPE X REPRESENT ALL OVER CREW. *dies from excitement*

But.. it was quite expensive.. The price blew my mind. It was $45. If I bought it, my budget would be way way way overshot. Plus, I needed to buy gifts for my friends' birthdays. I kept looking at Gwen and kept asking her if I should buy it or not. It's like one of my favourite thing on earth. After 5 minutes of a huge dilemma, Gwen told me, "I'll buy it for you as a birthday present. You want?"

HOLY SHITTTTTT

When this situation happens, what would you guys do? Say no? Obviously I said yes. And she bought it for me. My birthday is on 5th July, so it was an early birthday present.

$45. Usual Price: $75

It is actually still on the Hype's website, so if you plan to get it, click this.

It's just so pretty!

Thank you Gwen for the amazing birthday present! :-)

Oh and then, after we walked the whole of the Blogshop Festival, we went to Somerset because we couldn't find anything for Hatziqah/Michelle (the two birthday babies).

We walked to Scape and I told Gwen I should buy her something as well! Gwen wanted a pair of pink shorts.. Then I told her, "Why not you buy a pair of normal denim shorts then I dye it and stud it for you?"

She's like, "YES YES YES YES."

Went home and DIY-ed her shorts:

Will pass her on Monday I guess. :3

Polishing my Dr Martens

After four days of wearing my precious Dr Martens, it was time to give them a polish!

Items used:
1. Kiwi Shoe Polish
2. A normal shoe brush
3. A piece of cloth
4. Some water
5. Newspapers

Firstly, I laid newspapers on the ground. Just in case any my polish drops onto the floor~

And then, I unlaced the boots and rolled the laces into a tiny ball.

If you didn't look closely, you may think the boots are perfect in condition, however...

There are creases on the leather, and there are some dust.

How do I polish my shoes?

1. Brush off any dust present on the shoes.
2. Wrap the cloth around my index finger.
3. Damp the cloth and rub it on the shoes. (Don't make it too wet. Just make the surface of the leather damp.)
4. Take some Kiwi polish and rub it on the shoes in circular motions.
5. Keep rubbing till you see the leather shine.
6. Then, damp the cloth again and rub it on the shoes.

Shoe Review: Black Dr Martens 1460

So I bought a pair of Dr Martens from the Dr Martens Shop in Wheelock Place, Singapore.

Details about my pair of Dr Martens
Size: UK 6.5 // EUR 40
Colour: Black
Material: Smooth
Price: $152
Made in China

They came with a paper bag. I absolutely love paper bags because they're reusable and definitely recyclable.

This is the box containing the shoes:

And when I opened the box, I see:

A drawstring bag. Maybe it's provided so I could put my Dr Martens into them.

And ooh! A paper with pretty crosses!

My boots! They're just so perfect.

Some tag hanging around the laces...

Just me trying them out...

So, as I tried walking around my house, jump up and down, go up the stairs... the only problem I found when I wear my docs are that, the back of my leg hurts.

I didn't wear socks, so I guess the pain would lessen if I wore it.

Usually, I wear size EUR 39 - 40. I read other reviews and they talked about their Dr Martens being very very tight at the front. And some reviews said that the sizing runs big, and some said it runs small. This may be because of the your feet. My feet is kind of slim and narrow. For me, it wasn't tight at all. Everything was fine, except the back of my leg.

If you're not sure about whether your Dr Martens would fit your shoe size, then, the best way to find that out is to head down to the nearest Dr Martens store and try them out before purchasing them online.

To break in the Dr Martens, there are actually several ways to do so. Dr Martens actually have a special type of shoe care product called "Wonder Balsam". Wonder Balsam is Dr. Martens unique blend of coconut oil, lanolin, and beeswax. The natural ingredients clean and protect leather to keep it soft and supple. Wonder Balsam protects against water, liquid and salt marks. For use on all leather except suede types. No polishing necessary.

I would definitely recommend you to buy a pair of Dr Martens as well! The high quality and craftsmanship is definitely worth the price!

I'm just gonna end this blog entry with a photo of me wearing them.
And that's all! Bye! :-) Enjoy your summer!

The Town-ers!

Today is the day for me to sit for my last term paper for this semester!

Went out with Alyssa and Hadif (last minute agreed to) to town!

Hadif was like, "oh oh, take bus to town!"

Me, "no. i rather take the train, it's so much faster and cheaper."

Hadif, "i'm not a train person."

Me, "i'm not a bus person."

But still, I have to let in. I let him win.

We went to Wheelock Place to find the Dr. Martens store. It was quite small, surprisingly... I think the ION Orchard one is waaaaay larger. The salesperson is really pretty, but she kept staring at my attire... (why? are? you? making? me? so? uncomfortable?) I looked through the boots and I finally got the courage to face her and ask, "Do you sell the Wonder Balsam?" She was like, "Yes. Here it is." passing me the small can of wonder balsam. It was $17.90. (daylight robbery, i could get it at $14 with shipping fees online)

So I didn't buy it. I planned to buy it to break in my Dr Martens, but they're not here, yeeeettttt. I paid $105 for my pair of Dr. Martens and it's actually a preorder. It's that cheap because the supplier is taking it from the factory directly to Singapore, so it's waaaaay cheaper.

So we were walking to Topshop/Topman and suddenly the weather just turned bloody BLOODY hot. I can feel heat vibrating towards my skin.

But, hey, me and Alyssa took a photo together despite the weather~

I look bloody weird ok.

Anyways, Hadif treated us to ice-cream.

It was super yums! I chose the macadamia nuts with chocolate flavour. Alyssa chose the double berry flavour.

That's Hadif and me the weirdo.

So anyways, Alyssa went to the Royce Chocolate shop to buy chocolates as belated birthday present for Michelle. After that, she wanted to put the Royce Chocolates into my bag...

Here's what happened.

She was opening the bag, and then after she placed the chocolates inside, she tried zipping up the bag, but the zip flew out.

oh? shit. yea basically my bag cannot zip up anymore.

it's really not Alyssa's fault. my bag is quite old already. it's like almost 6 months old.

but she kept apologising and i feel so bad i feel so baaaaad. and then she told me she'll buy a new bag for me. i'm like, no need no need, just give me a big plastic bag so i can put my stuff inside. but no, she didn't listen to me, she bought a new bag pack for me.

It was a Baggu bag.

Because the outlet at Cineleisure does not have the Black Baggu Bag, we went to the one at Dhoby Ghaut.

I really didn't mind the colour of the bag, I just needed something to carry my stuff as I go home. But Alyssa says, "No no no, if you like black, then we get the black one. Treat it as your early birthday present okay!"

Ok. So, we went to Dhoby Ghaut's outlet and bought the black one.

It was amazing.
AMAZING.

The price was slashed from $52 to $32! How could we not get it (even though if my bag wasn't spoiled)?!

So yeah, after that, Alyssa needed to meet her friend somewhere in Singapore so she left first.

Me and Hadif went shopping. Ha ha ha. We walked back to Somerset and went to Topshop/Topman. He needed my advice on what to buy. So yeah, he bought one top from Topman and one top from JRunway and a Cleveland Indian cap. He so rich sia. Hahahaha.

So yeah, after that we went home.

Ok bye.
